Leaders find happiness and satisfaction when they find their true source of significance and security. Read Ecclesiastes 2:17-26.
The Bible shows two sides of the nature and value of work. In Genesis 2:15, “The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.” Adam (and Eve) found work exciting and used work as a vehicle for worship of their God. Their work gave them provision, a sense of accomplishment and great satisfaction. In other cases the Bible points to work as something forced upon man and a source of pain, oppression, drudgery, and unhappiness. Work became tainted by man’s sinful nature of pride, envy, greed and exploitation of others.
