Do you have the appropriate balance between power and compassion? (153-3)
Christian leaders should have leadership qualities that reflect the leadership qualities of Christ. Read Isaiah 40:9-11.
In consecutive verses Isaiah beautifully describes God’s sovereign power and his compassionate concern for His people. We see God as a powerful, merciful Father who nourishes, guides, and protects His people as a good shepherd would care for His flock. The visionary Christian leader that fully trusts God knows there is always reason for hope. Read Isaiah 25:1-12.

The island, seaport city of Tyre wielded great international influence during Isaiah’s day. The wealthy merchants in Tyre created a high standard of living through shrewd trading of materials on ships entering their harbor. But when their arrogance and pride became overbearing, God chose to bring them down and no one could stop the process.

When good leaders are gone from any organization calamity will follow. Read Isaiah 3:1-7.
Isaiah wrote that part of God’s judgment of Jerusalem and Judah involved removing good leaders from the nation. No organization nor nation can prosper without good leadership. People suffer with poor leaders at the helm. God knew the way to impact the nation was to change its leadership. Any organization that is not cultivating the next generation of leadership is setting itself up for failure.

Are you disappointed when you do not receive public recognition? (142-1)
It is perfectly natural for a leader to enjoy using their gifts and even enjoy the role of being in charge. The issue comes when it goes to their head. Read Proverbs 25:27.

Solomon’s advice to leaders in verse 27 is to not let success and the perks that go with it create a prideful ego or a self-centered outlook on life.
