Are you giving meaningful purpose to those on your team? (65-4)

God established purpose for lives He created. Read Genesis 1:22-25.

God gave His creation a charge to “Be fruitful and multiply…each according to its kind.” Life needs purpose. Among the most unhappy individuals in my sphere of influence are those who do not know why they are here and what God wants them to accomplish. They are seeking direction and purpose.

How are you doing with giving responsibility and authority to your team? (65-3)

Written by Barry-Werner on April 15th, 2009. Posted in Accountability, Decision Making, Genesis, Leadership Principles, Old Testament, Power and Influence, Relationships, Skills, Team Building.

God delegated responsibility for a task and the authority to complete the task to man. Read Genesis 1:26-28 and 2:18-20.

When God asked man to do a job, He gave him all the authority needed to complete the assignment. Man was not completely tested nor trained when God assigned him dominion over His creation. God allowed man to make decisions that He did not overrule. Could God have done it better? Yes! Was God still in charge even though man was making some independent decisions? Yes! Was there a chance that man would somehow fumble the assignment? Yes, in fact that is exactly what happened.

Are you able to rest one day per week? (65-2)

Written by Barry-Werner on April 14th, 2009. Posted in Exodus, Genesis, Hebrews, Isaiah, Leadership Principles, New Testament, Old Testament, Skills, Stress Management, Time Management.

God’s example helps leaders know when to work and when to rest. Read Genesis 2:1-3.

By His very nature, God does not get tired so when he established a time on the seventh day to rest, it wasn’t to recover physically or emotionally from hard work. God had been fully absorbed in the work of creation and yet when He saw the work was complete “He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done.” God rested to establish the example of rest and an example of taking a moment to appreciate a job well done.

God is the ultimate leader and the obvious place to start when looking at elements of individual leadership. Read Genesis 1:1-31.

God initiated the creation of the universe. He made something from nothing. God demonstrated the use of a step-by-step process over a period of time to bring order out of disorder. Because the process took six days to complete doesn’t mean God did not have an end in mind when He started the project. Being God, He could have jumped over the process to the end product in an instant but He chose to utilize a specific process. The following are just a few truths that leaders can learn from God’s process in creating the universe:
